New Slip Road for Malaga Airport

During the summer of 2013 Malaga Airport will finally witness the grand opening of the long-awaited access road to the A-7 highway. This new access road will eventually make it so much more convenient to get to and from the airport and will be a great benefit to those who are looking to get straight to their hotel or accommodation using a private taxi transfer.

The major benefit will be to those who are travelling to the western Costa del Sol to places like Marbella, Puerto Banus, Estepona, Calahonda, Sotogrande, Gibraltar and Fuengirola.

In the past, it has been a bit of a bottleneck with so many cars trying to escape the airport via the old road past the San Miguel beer factory and on many occasions, there has been a heavy build-up of traffic in this area in busy periods of the summer, especially July and August. 

When the new T3 section of Malaga airport was completed, along with the new runway and train facility, the project for the slip road was not finished, but due to the final steps of the A7 put into place, the time has now arrived to crown Malaga airport with this new slip road onto the major highway.

The only issue that we will have to keep in mind is that this new road will only be en exit point initially. The road will be one-way taking traffic from the airport but with time the second phase will be made when the road will also bring traffic into the airport area as well, although we are unable to say, at this time, when this second phase will be developed.
