New summer flights at Malaga Airport

Malaga Airport has launched six new direct non transfer connections to Madrid and several European countries for the start of the summer season, beginning March 29th and will end on October 24th.

Malaga will be connected with Madrid via a new Air Nostrum route with 16 weekly flights, increasing their number of operations with Madrid by 32 flights each week.

Air Nostrum joins a select group of airlines offering connections to the Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez airport. Other airlines offering this route are Iberia, with a total of 14 flights, and Air Europe, with 28 weekly flights. New international flights will link Malaga with Bordeaux and Nantes, Billund in Denmark and Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Norwegian airlines has premiered two new routes, linking Malaga with two important cities in the UK, the largest market that Malaga airport currently serves. From the end of last month, the airline has links with Birmingham, with six flights a week and Edinburgh, with two departures and two arrivals weekly.

Two more European routes began this week on Wednesday, with Primera Air connecting Malaga with the Danish town of Billund. Two departing and two arriving flights will be active each week, on Wednesdays and Sundays. Volotea and Vueling will also be be flying to Nantes and Bordeaux, respectively. The four weekly flights will start on Saturday, April 11th, with direct transfers on Saturday and Wednesday.

Airlines have scheduled over 69,000 commercial flights for this summer season at Malaga, up more than 1.5% over the same period last year. That is more than 12 million available seats via 194 routes.
