Malaga Airport to beat all records again!

Malaga airport, fourth in Spain in passengers’ volume will exceed the record of passengers’ movements this year. In 2014, there were nearly 14 million passengers. During the busiest days, the airport exceeded 400 flights and 60.000 passengers.

Currently, the airport connects over 100 destinations via fifty different airlines. It has 180 check-in desks, 49 boarding gates and 28 baggage claim carousels. The food court has 21 venues and the business area has 25 stores. More than 7000 workers are employed in 267 companies. The airport accounts for 27.1% of the province’s gross economy and 5% of Andalucia’s.

Air Europa will soon expand their long-distance fleet with the acquisition of 22 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aeroplanes. The aeroplanes are valued at approximately 5.205 million euros. The planes will be added to the fleet during 2016. The airline is forecasting flights to airports in New York (JFK) and Miami on a daily basis in 2016 during the spring-summer season, representing an offer of nearly 300.000 seats and more than 1.000 routes.
